My First Visit

What do you look for when attempting to find the best chiropractic clinic? Although some chiropractic offices appear the same now as some did 20 years ago, many chiropractic clinics now incorporate more than just hands-on chiropractic adjustments. For example, a progressive chiropractic clinic might also provide such services as x-rays and radiology, electric muscle stimulation, massage therapy, class IV LASER, extremity adjusting, sports chiropractic care, therapeutic exercise, physical therapy, diagnostic testing and even non-surgical spinal decompression therapy.

Chiropractic treatment isn’t a new modality or profession. Since 1895, chiropractors have been going to Chiropractic Colleges to attain a Doctor of Chiropractic degree to practice a specialized form of physical medicine.

A progressive chiropractic clinic

may have several therapists who participate in the care of the patient. Employed professionals may include physical therapists, personal trainers, massage therapists, and/or acupuncturists, as well as the chiropractor, which is usually the clinic director. Although spinal conditions are treated frequently, other conditions are treated as well. Here are some of the ailments that an effective chiropractic clinic may be able to provide methods of treatment for:

Migraine headaches, sciatica, herniated discs, bulging discs, forward head posture, back and neck pain, repetitive stress injuries, sports injuries, spinal alignment and car accident injuries such as whiplash.

Treating the extremities is as mainstream within the profession of chiropractic as spinal manipulations for some chiro offices

Holistic chiropractic care began with the premise that the body functions better when interferences to normal health are removed. The interference is most notably in the nervous system, but also in biomechanics, fascia, and biochemical homeostasis.

Many treatment centers practice what is known as Functional Medicine or Orthomolecular Medicine. The care may revolve around balancing the patient’s overall health to achieve wellness through means such as blood testing, hair analysis, diet, exercise, neurotransmitter treatment, stress management and the use of nutraceuticals.

This new-breed of complimentary and alternative medicine, natural health based chiropractic clinic exudes the holistic viewpoint that ‘imbalances are a primary precursor to ailments.’

Searching for Your New Chiropractic Clinic

To find a chiropractor, or other alternative health care provider you should first ask a neighbor or a friend. Not everyone has a chiropractor on his or her health care team. But most people have or know of someone who has seen a chiropractor at some point in their lives. You should be looking for evidence that someone is competent. Trusted referrals are genuine sources to go by. Once you hear good things about a good chiropractic clinic and the same name keeps coming up, that’s a good sign.

Aside from referrals; internet searches can be a great way to find a local chiropractic center as well.

As more and more documentation is published online, more and more reliable (user based) input becomes available to find your next doctor.

If you are looking for a chiropractic clinic in Denver, for example, you might do a search for “Denver chiropractor.” You might even search by ZIP code by typing in “Chiropractor 80235” (or any Denver metro ZIP) or even in your neighborhood like “Cherry Hills chiropractor”. Some other ideas to search by would include chiropractic techniques that work for you or conditions you are trying to address. Such as chiropractor for children or chiropractic and pregnancy.
